Saturday June 2nd, The Chubby Book Crew organized a foundraiser event in Elysian Park for Sean Martin and Kelly Samuelson to go to the International Fixed Fest race in Indonesia. The event was called “CBNC’s Revenge Of The Nerds 2”. It consisted of Potato Sack races, Kissing Booths, Hotdogs and Burgers. But what everyone was there for was the chance to win the coveted Chrome Jersey. Street racers from all parts of the state came to show their best racing skills and prove themselves in the Alley Cat race. The race consisted of 5 checkpoints: Angel’s point at the top of Elysian’s park, Temple & Boudry, Belmont High School, and 2 more checkpoints in Silverlake. San Francisco’s Steve Tortorelli, visiting Los Angeles for the weekend, used Hern as his personal tour guide, then took the safe route to the finish while Hern was improvising short-cuts.
First Place went to Steve Tortorelli, 2nd P-nut, 3rd to Orange 20’s own Lil Hern.
The award ceremony was held in the Kissing booth after a few hotdogs and burgers. Steve took the coveted jersey to San Francisco. Overall, great event, good vives and great croud. LA needs to keep events like these going.
